REVISED TRAFFIC CONTROL AND STREET CLOSURE AT SIX CORNERS EFFECTIVE JULY 31, 2025

Post Date:07/30/2025 3:38 PM

Joliet, IL – As part of the Plainfield Road Water Main Improvement Project, new pavement must be constructed at the Six Corners intersection of Plainfield Road / Black Road and Ruby Street / Raynor Avenue.

Due to traffic signalization issues, the traffic pattern and street closures must be modified in order to construct new pavement at the Six Corners intersection.  North bound traffic on N. Raynor Avenue from Mason Avenue to Black Road will be closed as well as east bound traffic on Black Road from Prairie Avenue to N. Raynor Avenue.  Westbound Ruby and southbound Raynor Avenue will remain open during this stage of construction.  One lane of traffic in each direction on Plainfield Road will also remain open.  Local detours will be in place.  These new temporary traffic measures will be in place beginning the morning of July 31st and be completed by August 7th.  Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes for the duration of the work.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone.  Information about the project can be found by visiting www.joliet.gov/construction-zone.  If you have any questions, please contact the Public Utilities Department at (815) 724-4220.
