Metra has announced that it has rescheduled the Rock Island Line closure to the weekend of Aug. 28-30, resulting in no train service between Joliet and Chicago during the closure.
On Friday, Aug. 28, the last train from Joliet to Chicago (Train 512) will depart Joliet at 6:25 p.m. The last train from Chicago to Joliet (Train 511) will depart LaSalle Street Station at 8:25 p.m.
Service is expected to resume in time for the Monday morning commute on Aug. 31. The closure is necessary for bridge work associated with the construction of Metra's new Auburn Park Station in Chicago.
Riders should plan ahead and consider alternate transportation during the closure.
