The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that the Ruby Street Bridge will close to vehicular traffic this afternoon (Friday, August 14, 2026) and remain raised overnight as the U.S. Coast Guard works to clear a backup of river traffic following storm-related issues with the bridge earlier this week.
