Our Information Desk employees are dedicated to working with and assisting all Joliet Citizens with City Hall inquiries and reporting residential code violations. Our Information Desk personnel will do their very best to get you in touch with the proper City Department in order to address your concern.
Our Mobile and Online Service Request system is not monitored 24-hours a day. The City Hall Information Desk does not handle Joliet Police Department related calls or emergencies. If you require emergency assistance please dial 9-1-1 or contact Joliet’s 24 hour Non-Emergency Police Line at (815) 726-2491.
City of Joliet residents are able to report non-emergency concerns such as overgrown grass violations, street light outages, potholes and more to the City Hall Information Desk.
All concerns and complaints submitted are reviewed by Information Services personnel and forwarded to the appropriate City Department for response. Any concerns or complaints submitted after normal business hours will be processed the following business day. City Hall hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except on observed holidays).
When submitting a service request, please be prepared to provide the exact location of the property that is a concern. We cannot submit a service request without the specific address location and only one address location per service request is permitted. All concerns must be located within Joliet City limits. You may lodge your service request or concern in different ways. Methods and instructions are described below.
NOTE: Once a Service Request has been submitted to the City of Joliet it cannot be deleted. Service requests are considered public documents, and can be accessed and requested by the general public by submitting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) form. The FOIA request forms are available in the City Clerk’s Office, located on the first floor of City Hall or click here.
The GoRequest app is a service available which allows you to make service requests through a free smart phone app available to you on the Apple App or Google Play stores. If you would like to utilize this format, simply search for “GoRequest”, download the app and you are ready to begin lodging your concerns or suggestions.
A service request may also be lodged from your personal computer or other electronic devices by going to our website www.joliet.gov.info. From the homepage, select the I Want To tab… then select Report… after, select Click Here to File An Online Service Request. You may then enter the information into the Service Request form provided. You can upload pictures or documents into your Service Request from your file data base on your smart phone, tablet, or computer by clicking on the Add Attachments link.
You may lodge a service request in person by visiting us at the City Hall Information Desk located across from the Customer Service Department on the first floor or by calling the City Hall Information Desk at (815) 724-4000. All calls received at the Information Desk may be recorded for quality assurance. Please inform our staff if you would like to remain anonymous.
All City Hall Inspectors and Employees have 15 business days (Monday - Friday) to review your initial Service Request. Some requests may take longer for initial action due to the nature of the request or multi departmental involvement. For best results please fill in your contact information, so that you may be contacted if further information is needed. Also, please make a note of your Service Request Number for follow up purposes at the time you submit your request.
