Project Acclaim

A neighborhood curb appeal awards program offered by a Joliet-based grass roots recognition organization issued a record number of honors in the summer of 2016. Project Acclaim, formerly Joliet/Will County Project Pride, issued its Neighborhood Hero accolades to thirteen residents in August. Last year, eight such awards honored homeowners who took pride in their property, their neighborhood, and their community with the appearance of their property. There were 27 nominees this year. Both Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk and City Manager Jim Hock endorsed the program that singles out individual home owners for either outstanding horticulture in their yard or spectacular improvements to the façade of their dwelling. The Award winners have been invited to appear before the Joliet City Council for introductions and Council appreciation on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Joliet City Hall. The Council will meet the Neighborhood Hero winners at the beginning of the Council meeting. 2016 is the sixth year that Project Acclaim has offered this Program.
