The City encourages residents to install rain barrels on their property to reduce storm water runoff from roofs, and also reduce treated water usage on gardens and lawns.
A limited number of 55 gallon plastic storage barrels are available for residents to convert into free rain barrels. You can follow Easy Do-It-Yourself instructions to make your own rain barrel.
Residents can also purchase reduced cost rain barrels through a partnership with the Conservation Foundation. To learn more, visit The Conservation Foundation.
