Thank you for your interest in participating in the City of Joliet CERT Program and helping your community become safer and more resilient.

Participation in CERT is a substantial volunteer commitment requiring initial and ongoing training and call-out participation.  Membership requirements include:

• Joliet resident
• Age 18 or older
• Pass a basic criminal background check
• Valid Driver’s License or ID

Disqualifiers for CERT service:

• A felony conviction in the last five years
• Any pending criminal charges
• Registered sex offender or conviction of a crime which requires registration
• Mentally incompetent as adjudicated by the court

Training requirements include a 12-week academy that meets once per week.
