The Administration Division is the administrative managerial branch of the Joliet Police Department. Members of the Administration Division include Command Staff, Internal Affairs, Accreditation, Public Affairs, Special Projects, Training Unit, and Social Services Unit.

The Joliet Police Department Public Affairs Unit handles all media relations and inquiries, and acts as a spokesperson for the department on behalf of the Chief of Police. Public Affairs consists of active, sworn Joliet Police personnel.  Public Affairs duties include, but are not limited to:

•Public Information Officer
•Maintaining positive working relationships with members of all media
•News releases, informational inquiries, and briefings
•Joliet Police Department social media
•Community outreach
•Freedom Of Information Act requests
