The City of Joliet is working with its partners at the city, county, state and federal levels to monitor the worldwide outbreak of the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19. The City will continue to take steps to keep residents, staff and visitors to City buildings healthy, safe and informed.

Beginning Friday, June 26 Illinois will move into Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan.

  • The ability to gather in groups of 50
  • Limited capacity indoor dining
  • Limited indoor entertainment reopening with restrictions
  • Reopening of health and fitness centers with restrictions

All of the above and more is possible because residents continue to:

  • Use a face covering
  • Wash hands frequently
  • Remain socially distant from one another whenever possible
  • Sanitize frequently touched surfaces
  • Stay home when you are feeling sick

If you plan to attend a public meeting please review the procedures for public comment  by visiting the Meeting Procedure & Schedule page.

6/22/2020 As the State of Illinois moves to phase 4 of Governor Pritzker’s plan to reopen businesses,  a number of new guidelines have been issued to ensure that we are progressing in a manner that promotes public health and safety. Details may be found at the following link:  Phase 4 Guidelines

These guidelines affect us all.  Whether we own a business, are an employee, or are a customer of a business, we have a shared responsibility to take care of ourselves and take care of each other.  Stay safe!
