The City of Joliet is hosting a public forum to present the findings of the Phase II Alternative Water Source Study. The forum will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 5 – 7 PM at Cantigny VFW, 826 Horseshoe Drive, Joliet.
The City of Joliet and Waste Management remind all residents that the last week for yard waste pickup will be Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 6, 2019. Yard waste collection will resume Monday, March 9, 2020.

Garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup will be one day late on Thursday and Friday during the week of Nov. 25, 2019 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Residents with Monday through Wednesday pickup will not be impacted by this change. Normal collection schedule will resume the week of Dec. 2, 2019.
The Joliet Police Department, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation, will participate in a statewide effort to increase seatbelt usage and crack down on drunk driving.

The week of Nov. 11, 2019 will have regularly scheduled garbage and recycling pickup. The Veterans Day holiday on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 will not impact Waste Management’s schedule.
Theodore Street, between Delrose Street and Gaylord Road, will be reduced to one lane in both the east and west bound direction. In addition to the lane closures, there will be width restrictions and bypass pumping ramps in the roadway.

Joliet Police Chief Al Roechner announced today that the Joliet Police Department, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation, will participate in a statewide effort to increase seatbelt usage and reduce the number of impaired drivers the month of November.

Northbound Joliet Street between Washington and Jefferson Street will be closed beginning today, Wednesday, Oct. 9 and last for approximately two months.
