The City of Joliet advises residents and motorists that the intersection of Briggs Street and New Lenox Road will be temporarily closed to traffic for construction improvements being completed by Love's Travel Stops.
The closure is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, November 10, and remain in place through approximately Tuesday, November 17, weather permitting.
The temporary closure is necessary to allow crews to safely complete intersection improvements associated with ongoing development in the area. During construction, all traffic will be prohibited from traveling through the intersection.
A signed detour route will be posted to help motorists safely navigate around the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, use caution in the area, and follow all posted traffic control devices and detour signage.
The City appreciates the public's patience and cooperation while these improvements are completed.
