Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre is calling all gnomes, creatures, and characters to audition for the 50th anniversary production of the Festival of the Gnomes. Performers ages 5 through adult are invited to audition, and no previous theatre experience is required.
Auditions will be held at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre (201 W. Jefferson Street), on:
- Tuesday, October 6, at 5 p.m.
- Saturday, October 10, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
During auditions, participants will be asked to pantomime a scene, portray an animal through movement and expression, participate in a cold reading, and demonstrate strong voice projection, energy, and animation.
Previous cast members are encouraged to return but must audition for this year's production. Those unable to attend in-person may submit a video audition to bipark@joliet.gov by Monday, October 12.
Rehearsals will take place during October and November, generally twice per week with occasional Saturday rehearsals.
The 50th Festival of the Gnomes will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6.
